How Big An Area of Lawn Does the Mower Cover?

On areas of up to 15,000 m2, it will always provide a tidy, attractive finish, of an equivalent standard to cutting a lawn every third day.
For spaces up to 10,000 m2, it provides what we call a ‘professional’ cut, which is equal to mowing your lawn every second day.

How Does it Handle Hilly and Wet Conditions?
Thanks to large, coarse-tread wheels, the Automower® 550 EPOS™ can handle gradients of up to 45% (15% if the slope is located on the working area’s boundary). It can navigate narrow paths with ease, and also maintains its impeccable standards in wet conditions.
In fact, this robotic mower actually adjusts its working time according to the weather and resulting growth of the grass. For example, in drier conditions and later in the season, when growth is slower, the Automower® 550 reduces mowing time to minimise unnecessary wear on both mower and lawn.

The Unique Cutting System

Through the EPOS™ technology, you can command the mower to create a range of attractive patterns on your lawn. Choices include stripes, diamonds, triangles and a chessboard effect.
Potential Problems Easily Overcome
The Husqvarna Automower® 550 EPOS™ Robotic Mower is designed with built-in sensors,
which use ultrasonic technology to detect and avoid obstacles. So, completely autonomously, the mower will stop and change direction before an impact occurs. In the event it tips over or is lifted from the ground, the cutting function is immediately shut down.
You can also create temporary ‘stay-out’ zones if certain areas of the lawn are being seeded, undergoing maintenance, or currently in use. It is both quick and easy to activate/ deactivate these zones via the Husqvarna app.
And should anyone ever attempt to steal your robot mower, you will automatically receive an immediate notification through the app, which uses GPS tracking to stay abreast of the mower’s position, so the police can recover it with minimal fuss.
Charging and Maintenance
When the Automower® 550’s work is done, its EPOS™ guidance system calculates the most efficient route back to the charging station. It will even factor in potential hazards and more difficult tracks when making its calculations. Charging is carried out automatically.
Likewise, when it’s time for work, this robot mower will find its way from docking station to starting point, always via the most effective route.
You can designate a specific spot to carry out the mower’s maintenance on the virtual map. At your command, the machine will park there, ready to be cleaned, serviced or stored away.
