STIHL MS 180 Petrol Chainsaw

The MS 180 is a 1.4 kW petrol chainsaw with all the quality features and ease of use you would expect from STIHL. It comes with a 14 inch / 35 cm bar length.

High quality, efficient performance

Using STIHLs 2-MIX technology, this engine features high torque over a wide speed range. It provides fuel savings of up to 20 percent compared to regular STIHL 2-stroke engines, and reduces exhaust emissions by up to 50 percent. With advanced combustion technology, lower fuel consumption is heightened even further, with added benefits to torque. 

Robust design

A compensator in the carburettor means you won't suffer an instant drop in power when the air filter becomes clogged. The controller prevents the fuel-air mixture from getting richer in this situation, delivering the correct quantity of fuel to keep the fuel/air ratio constant and hence also the engine power. You won't need to clean the air filter until an appreciable drop in power takes place. The MS 180 also uses the Ematic chain lubrication system, which not only provides maximum lubrication when using STIHL's OILOMATIC saw chains, but results in longer wear and less oil consumption (up to 50% less bar oil consumption).

Easy to operate

The start, choke, throttle and stop controls are all operated using a single lever, for excellent ease of use and comfortable control. It also comes with STIHL's anti-vibration system, which dampens the oscillations from the machine's engine to significantly reduce vibrations at the handles - helping to guard against the long-term effects of vibrations on blood vessels in the hands and arms. The unit's tensioning screw is located on the side of the chain saw, so you don't have to touch the sharp saw chain.
