STIHL MS 231 C-BE Petrol Chainsaw

The MS 231 C-BE has several additional features that make it an excellent, user-friendly chainsaw. With a choice between a 14 inch / 35 cm bar or a 16 inch / 40 cm bar.

ErgoStart and Chain Quick Tensioning as standard

STIHL's ErgoStart technology reduces the effort needed to start the tool by half, while the starter cord can be pulled at just a third of the normal force. On top of this, the Chain Quick Tensioning allows you to adjust the chain tension after releasing the sprocket cover using a thumb wheel and with no need for tools.

Other features make this machine supremely simple to operate

Special catches on the fuel and oil tanks allow you to easily open and lock the tanks, again without tools, while all of the machine's important operating controls are located on a single lever. This means you can use the saw for longer without getting tired, something which is further helped by the inclusion of STIHL's anti-vibration system. This dampens the engine's oscillations to significantly reduce vibrations at the unit's handles, helping to guard against the harmful potential effects of intense vibrations.

A reliable & durable machine

The MS 231 C-BE uses STIHL's long-life air filtration system with pre-separation to achieve noticeably longer filter life when compared with conventional systems. Larger, heavier particles are ejected before they reach the air filter. A compensator in the carburettor also helps to keep the air/fuel ratio and engine power constant, by delivering the correct quantity of fuel to the carburettor based on the quantity of air passing through the filter. This means you only need to clean the air filter once you notice a drop in power.
