The Husqvarna 550 EPOS™ Automower

Weighing 13.8 kg, the Husqvarna 550 EPOS™ Automower measures 72 cm (length) x 56 cm (width) x 32 cm (height). It has a cutting width of 24 cm and adjustable cutting height of between 20 and 60 mm. Thanks to its unique cutting system, which includes 5 pivoting, razor-sharp blades, this robot mower will deliver the perfect cut, every single time.

The Husqvarna Automower 550 EPOS™ works completely autonomously and incredible effectively. On a single charge, it will typically operate for 3 ½ hours. And with a perceived sound level of just 65 dB(A), it is exceptionally quiet when operating.

This robot mower can also comfortably handle gradients of up to 45 % (15 % if the slope is located on the lawn’s perimeter), as well as navigate narrow paths with ease – always maintaining its impeccable cutting standards, whatever the conditions.

Suitable Sizes of Lawn

The Husqvarna Automower 550 can deliver three different types of finish, depending on the size of lawn.

On areas of up to 15,000 m², it provides a tidy, attractive finish, which is of an equivalent standard to cutting your lawn every third day.

For spaces up to 10,000 m², it delivers what we call a ‘professional’ cut, equal to mowing your lawn every second day.

And on lawns up to 5,000 m², the 550 EPOS™ Automower achieves an unbeatable ‘professional sports’ cut. This is of a standard usually associated with world-class football pitches, which are mowed daily.

The Latest Satellite Technology

This premium commercial automower operates through RTK-GNSS satellite technology. Husqvarna’s EPOS™ (Exact Positioning Service) is accurate to within just 2 cm.

As it only uses virtual boundaries, the 550H EPOS™ offers you unparallelled levels of flexibility. You can even carry out deep aeration (or other turf repair) without having to reprogramme the mower’s settings.

The Body of the Mower

The body of this mower features energy-efficient LED lights to ensure it remains visible, even at night. You can set these lights to solid or flashing – the choice is yours.

It also includes a user-friendly control panel, which is designed to make operating the mower easy for inexperienced users and minimise the consequences if it is vandalised. Therefore, most of the 550 EPOS™ Husqvarna’s advanced features are handled remotely, via the Husqvarna Fleet Services™ app.

The Husqvarna Fleet Services™ App

This leading-edge app gives you complete control over the mower from the comfort and convenience of your smartphone, tablet or laptop. And should your responsibilities involve caring for multiple lawns, you can control an entire fleet of these robot mowers, all from the single app.

Husqvarna Fleet Services™ also lets you analyse every aspect of the AM 550 EPOS’s performance. It gives you an overview of status and location, as well as letting you issue single or group commands.

These include setting and adjusting cutting heights, as well as determining when work should take place. Even if your robot mower is allocated with multiple work areas, you can customise each one with different settings.

The App Drive Function

Should you wish, you can even take control of the Automower 550 EPOS™ in real time, operating it by remote control on your smartphone. It’s simple to use and the mower handles like a dream!

A Revolutionary Cutting System

Each of the Automower EPOS™ 550’s discs is equipped with 5 robust, razor-sharp Enhance HSS blades. Not only does this guarantee a better cut, it also reduces the need for blade changes.

And because the EPOS™ 550 Husqvarna will be regularly mowing your lawn, these blades only need to cut small amounts at any one time. This principle of cutting little but often helps generate stronger, healthier, more attractive grass.

Within the cutting deck, the discs are surrounded by what Husqvarna calls its ‘protection zone’, which acts as a buffer to minimise the risk of accidents.

In the unlikely event that the cutting system becomes imbalanced, perhaps due to missing, double-mounted or damaged blades, you will receive immediate notification through the Husqvarna Fleet Services™ app, so you can take prompt action to ensure the robot mower quickly resumes regular service.

Mowing in Different Patterns

Thanks to its EPOS™ technology, you can command this robot mower to create a range of attractive patterns on your lawn. Choices include stripes, diamonds, triangles and a chessboard effect.

Avoiding Obstacles in Real Time

The Husqvarna 550 EPOS™ Automower is fitted with built-in sensors, which use ultrasonic technology to detect and avoid obstacles. So, completely autonomously, it will stop and change direction before an impact occurs. Should the mower somehow tip over or be lifted off the ground, the cutting function is immediately shut down as a safety precaution.

Stay-Out Zones

You can also create temporary ‘stay-out’ zones if certain areas of your lawn are being seeded, undergoing maintenance, or currently in use. It is quick and easy to activate or deactivate these areas through the Husqvarna Fleet Services™ app.

A Weather-Beating Robot Mower

Building on 30 years of experience in a tough Nordic climate, Husqvarna has designed what is an unbeatably robust, durable, weatherproof robot mower, capable of working 24/7, with no more than regular maintenance and cleaning.

What’s more, the Husqvarna 550H EPOS™ adjusts its working time according to the weather conditions and growth of the grass. For example, during periods of strong grass growth, it will mow more frequently, while in drier conditions and later in the season, when growth is slower, it will reduce mowing time to minimise wear on both mower and lawn.

Charging and Maintenance

When this robot mower’s work is done, its EPOS™ guidance system calculates the best way back to the charging station. It will even factor in potential hazards and more difficult tracks when making its calculations.

As the Husqvarna AM 550 EPOS™ is completely autonomous, charging is carried out automatically. Charging time is up to 60 minutes. On a full charge, the mower’s typical running time is 210 minutes.

Likewise, when it’s time for work, this robotic mower will find its way from docking station to starting point by the most effective route possible.

Through the app’s virtual map, you can designate a specific spot to carry out maintenance. At your command, the automower will park there, ready to be cleaned, serviced or put into storage.

Husqvarna has ensured that it’s easy to move the mower’s cutting deck into the vertical service position, so you can clean and maintain it simply and effectively.

Protection Against Theft

If anyone attempts to steal this robot mower, you will automatically receive an immediate notification through the Husqvarna Fleet Services™ app. It then uses GPS tracking to remain abreast of the mower’s position, so the police can recover it with minimal fuss.

Staying Up to Date with New Developments

Thanks to Firmware Over The Air (FOTA) technology, you will receive regular upgrades to your Husqvarna Automower 550H EPOS™ software. All of these new features and updates are downloaded via the Husqvarna Fleet Services™ app, so there’s no need to tamper with the actual machine.
