The STIHL MSA 120 C-BQ Cordless Chainsaw combines balanced handling with practical performance for everyday domestic cutting tasks. It is well suited to pruning smaller branches and cutting smaller logs for firewood around the garden. Cordless operation also provides unrestricted movement without requiring petrol or a trailing electrical cable.

Efficient and Quiet EC Motor

A compact STIHL EC electric motor delivers efficient performance while keeping the chainsaw lightweight and comfortable to operate. The motor produces very low vibration and quiet operation, helping make longer cutting sessions more comfortable. Its electric design also requires no servicing, reducing ongoing maintenance requirements for domestic users.

Quick Tool-Free Chain Tensioning

The STIHL Quick Chain Tensioning system allows users to adjust chain tension quickly without reaching for additional tools. Releasing the sprocket cover provides access to a convenient thumb wheel for setting the required chain tension. This straightforward system makes routine adjustments easier and helps keep the chainsaw correctly prepared between cutting tasks.

Controlled Chain Lubrication

The STIHL Ematic lubrication system directs chain oil precisely towards the guide bar rails and saw chain links. When used with STIHL Oilomatic chain, it can reduce bar oil consumption by up to 50%. A transparent chain oil tank makes checking the remaining oil level quick without removing the filler cap.

Comfortable Handling and Added Safety

An ergonomic front handle and soft rear control handle provide secure, comfortable handling across different working positions. The QuickStop Super chain brake provides additional protection by stopping the chain under several operating conditions. It activates following sufficient kickback, front hand guard operation or when the rear handle is released.

Practical STIHL AK System

The two-stage battery insertion system includes a neutral position that secures the battery without connecting its electrical contacts. This provides additional convenience when transporting the chainsaw between working locations.

A 30cm / 12-inch guide bar provides a manageable cutting setup for pruning and smaller firewood preparation. The chainsaw uses the STIHL AK battery system, with the AK 20 recommended for suitable performance.
