A 2.9kW petrol chainsaw ideal for cold conditions.
With a heated carburettor and handles, the MS 261 C-M VW is perfect for working in tough weather, while also including all of STIHL's usual top-quality features. With a 16 inch / 40 cm bar length.
Work in the cold in comfort
Thanks to heated handles, you can work in comfort even when battling freezing temperatures. The handles provide additional comfort and can be engaged with a switch on the left handle as required. The carburettor can also be heated, by changing the saw from summer to winter operation. This sets the intake air to pass over the engine fins so that it is pre-heated, ensuring the carburettor does not ice up so that you can continue working even in freezing conditions.
Intelligent & efficient operation
This model also includes STIHL's M-Tronic engine management system that adjusts ignition timing and fuel metering, taking external conditions such as temperature, altitude and fuel quality into account, to provide consistent engine performance, a constant maximum speed and superb acceleration. With electronic cold/warm start recognition, only one start position is needed on the combi-lever. The engine also starts after fewer pulls and can immediately accelerate up to speed. The Ematic chain lubrication system is also used on this model, reducing bar oil consumption by up to 50 percent while providing longer wear and maximum lubrication. STIHL's 2-MIX engine technology ensures up to 20 percent less fuel consumption and up to 50 percent less emissions compared to the same power non-2-MIX engines.
Comfortable & easy to use
Tool free filler caps and a side-position for the chain tensioner are just two of the design decisions STIHL have taken to make the MS 261 C-M VW as easy to use as possible. It also has anti-vibration technology, which dampens the engine oscillations and results in significantly less vibrations at the handles. This not only makes the tool more comfortable to work with, but allows you to operate for longer without getting tired. ElastoStart works alongside a decompression valve to reduce the shock on your muscles and joints when starting the saw, and to make pulling the starter cord easier.
