STIHL's lightest high-performance 70cc saw.
This is a great chainsaw to handle courtesy of an exceptional power to weight ratio, making it ideal for a variety of uses.
Brilliant performance thanks to STIHL's 2-MIX and M-Tronic systems
With 1-in-4 channel technology for high torque over a wide rpm range, the MS 462 C-M utilises STIHL's 2-MIX engine technology, which also gives the benefit of fuel savings of up to 20 percent compared to standard STIHL two-stroke engines of this class. Exhaust emissions are also reduced by up to 50 percent.
More cutting edge technology comes from the M-Tronic electronic management system, adjusting ignition timing and fuel metering to take into account external conditions. Things like altitude, temperature and fuel quality all have a marked effect on your chainsaw's performance, but M-Tronic ensures you can enjoy a constant maximum speed, fantastic acceleration and easier starting. Because the technology knows if you are starting warm or cold, only one start position is needed on the combi-lever.
A top quality machine, built to last
With its lightweight design, the MS 462 C-M is a pleasure to handle, with no compromises made to performance or build quality. Adjustments to the saw are wonderfully simple to perform, with the side chain tensioner making it so you don't have to touch the saw chain, and a new oil pump system providing a higher volume of oil, perfect for working in dusty conditions or with a longer guide bar.
The new HD2 air filter from STIHL uses a radial filter to help prevent the intake of fine dust particles, increasing service life by reducing wear. Markings are in place on the fan housing, helping you to carry out plunge cuts safely, while the tooth length of the bumper spikes has been adjusted with the contours of trees in mind, for even greater cutting performance.
Simple to use for hassle-free cutting
A decompression valve backs up the M-Tronic system to provide easier starting, with the compression pressure and the effort needed to pull the starter rope both reduced. For more comfortable operation, STIHL's anti-vibration technology is used, dampening the oscillations from the engine and reducing vibrations in the handles.
For a machine that's particularly easy to maintain, tool free filler caps are fitted, and captive nuts help make it so that you won't lose them when changing the attachment.
