With Honda's GCVX170 Autochoke engine on board, the Mountfield SP53 Elite enjoys impressive performance alongside reliable operation, as well as being easy-to-start. This engine, alongside the 51 cm / 20 inch steel cutter deck, means you can effortlessly mow medium to large lawns without difficulty.

Fantastic cutting performance

With its 60 litre collector that allows you to work for longer without having to stop to empty it, the SP53 Elite easily provides a great way to achieve a flawless finish to your lawn. In addition, it also comes with a mulching plug that can be simply clipped to the back of the machine, allowing you to achieve a similar quality of finish but without the need to empty the collector (saving you up to 30 percent in time). 

Mulching involves the finely cut clippings being blown down into the turf so that they are less noticeable, and also allowing them to act as a natural fertiliser.

An exceptional machine to operate

Self-propelled drive on the SP53 Elite makes it easy to work with, even on sloped gardens and large areas. All you need to do is pull the drive lever to start moving. You can change the cutting height easily in any one of five positions between 27 and 90 mm, using a single lever, while the inclusion of an anti-scalp plate helps provide a fantastic finish even when mowing on the lowest cutting heights.

The large rear wheels give it an impressive appearance as well as providing smoother mowing on uneven terrain, and the metallic silver steel cutter deck ensures this is a machine that is up to tough tasks, while looking the part.
