An ideal clearing saw for the professional user.
This bike-handled clearing saw comes with the latest STIHL technology, included electronic engine management and simple-starting.
Reduced-emission engine technology
The FS 490 C-EM comes with STIHL's 2-stroke engine with stratified charge. Using their 2-MIX technology, the amount of fuel lost during the charge cycle is dramatically reduced, resulting in more power with a lower weight, up to 20 percent less fuel consumption and vastly reduced exhaust emissions compared to regular 2-stroke engines. A long-life air filter and large, easily accessible fuel tank back up the engine quality, ensuring you have a premium quality machine on your hands.
Clever electronic engine management
With the revolutionary M-Tronic technology built in, ignition timing and fuel metering is adjusted for you in all operating modes. This system takes external conditions like temperature, altitude and fuel quality into account to ensure consistent engine performance, a constant maximum speed and excellent acceleration. Manual carburettor adjustments are no longer necessary, and the starting process is made noticeably easier, with fewer pulls required. STIHL's ErgoStart feature also means the starter cord can be pulled with just a third of the normal force, and the starting process is generally much simplified compared to previous machines.
Comfortable, clever design
As a bike-handled machine, a smooth mowing action is ensured when used with a harness. The machine can be easily guided, making it ideal for working on large areas with reduced fatigue. A 4-point anti-vibration system uses steel springs as elements to reduce the transmission of vibrations to the handle, while a multi-function control handle allows easy, comfortable, thumb-operated control, with your hand never having to leave the handle. The handle itself can be adjusted without the need for tools, and can be rotated by 90 degrees for transportation and ease of storage.
