Hand-made in Japan, this machine has an outstanding level of power, endurance and quality.
The CM185 is part of Canycom's Samurai range, dealing with tough vegetation and terrain yet able to last the course and be comfortable to operate.
Reliable & powerful shaft drive design
With this machine almost the whole 18HP is transferred directly to the cutting blades due to the use of a shaft drive system. This makes the Samurai range of brushcutters unlike any other in this class, while the blades themselves (manufactured with fine layers of steel formed in a forge) not only provide a fantastic cut but can survive impacts from granite rock.
Thanks to the spring-steel blade carrier's innovative profile and the oil-filled, cast gearbox with spring-based pinion gear system, shocks are absorbed and impacts dampened, so that the CM185 is able to take rough ground in its stride.
An unparalleled ability to deal with steep slopes & tough vegetation
Safe for working on slopes of up to 15 degrees, the CM185 lets you take on areas other machines just can't handle. With its shaft drive system, you avoid the reliability problems, maintenance issues and reduced efficiency of belt driven machines, allowing the Samurai range to tackle the most difficult jobs out there, without sacrificing reliability. To push over scrub, gorse and small trees, a front nudge bar is included, while the wide throat of 23.6 cm means tall grass and brush can still pass to the cutting deck.
More than a match for these tough tasks, a Subaru-powered Robin EH63DS engine is at the heart of this machine, which is an air-cooled, 4-cycle V-twin 653cc model. This reliability and power combines in a machine that can even deal with wooded material up to 3.6 cm thick.
An easy & comfortable machine to work with
Thanks to a unique blend of a mechanical 2 step gearbox that has high and low range gear selection, and a hydrostatic drive in front, the CM185 enjoys the benefits of hydrostatic automatic transmission (such as easy foot pedal control) along with the strength and power that mechanical drive provides. To suit a wide range of statures and body types, the steering wheel and seat can both be fully adjusted, while for versatile mowing you can easily raise or lower the cutting height between 0 and 150 mm in 21 steps.
Control and agility is also a given, with an extremely tight turning radius of only 1.8 metres, plus a compact deck, low seat and narrow body that means this model can reach areas other machines can't.
